Have you ever had a shot of Fireball Whiskey?  It’s like drinking Red Hots.  It’s burns a little going down, it’s very cinnamon-y, and warms you very quickly.  But when paired with chicken wings, it’s a completely different flavor!  Fireball Glazed Chicken Wings are my latest creation.  The chicken wings are moist, tender and have a wonderfully sweet yet spicy flavor.  The chicken is marinated overnight, then baked, and finished off with a Fireball Whiskey glaze.  The glaze is where the flavor comes into play.  There is a slight hint of cinnamon but it’s not overpowering, red pepper flakes to kick the heat up a notch, and brown sugar to level it all out.  They are phenomenal! The recipe can be found here. Start by preparing the marinade for the chicken.  Add the brown sugar, salt, chili powder, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, cinnamon, and red pepper flakes to a … Continue reading

Balsamic & Guinness Chicken Wings are a unique yet delicious appetizer or dinner option.  They have quite the pleasant flavor…it’s a little tangy and sweet.  I think Guinness is mildly sweet with a hoppy/bitter flavor and notes of coffee, almost tastes like roasted almonds.  Balsamic is rich in flavor with a mellow tartness and some acidity, kind of herby.  But both complement each other nicely. The recipe can be found here. Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Line the chicken wings on the baking sheet, leaving a little space in between.  Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until an internal temperature of 165 degrees F is reached. While the wings are baking, make the sauce.  Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.  Add the onion and garlic and sauté until soft and translucent. … Continue reading

We recently got a smoker and let me tell you, we’re having some fun working on recipes!  Our first attempt at smoking meat was chicken wings.  We thought, let’s start small, see how this thing works, and not spend a lot of money on meat in case it doesn’t turn out…. The result was Hickory Smoked Buffalo Wings.  They were phenomenal! We used hickory wood chips and the flavor really came through in the chicken wings.  The smoker is electric and does require you to add additional wood chips throughout the smoking process.  Perhaps next time we’ll try mesquite.  The whole process was pretty easy.  You basically smoke the chicken wings as is, then toss them in the sauce and smoke again, so the smokey flavor will also absorb into the sauce a bit. The recipe can be found here. Start by adding the hickory wood chips to the smoker … Continue reading

We recently purchased an air fryer to see what the hype is all about – it’s pretty awesome!  Our first meal consisted of Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings and Air Fryer Homemade French Fries. Both the chicken wings and french fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the side.  Plus, they are so easy to make! You’d never guess you could have delicious chicken wings and french fries for a fraction of the oil traditionally used to cook these items.  That’s because air fryers require less oil than when frying food, making it a great appliance to use to cut calories and fat.  Generally speaking, air fryers product healthier alternatives to fried food.  Give it a try! Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings have great flavor in each bite!  The lemon flavor really stands out without being overpowering and the skin becomes crispy, creating a nice crunch.  … Continue reading

There’s no denying it – I love chicken wings!  With so many flavor varieties and dipping sauces, they’re not only a delicious meal but allow you to try something different each time.  Think potluck, football party, backyard BBQ, afternoon snack, etc.  Chicken wings fit the menu for most occasions.  I have 4 baked chicken wing recipes to share with you today.  These are some of my favorite recipes, so I hope you enjoy them.  Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings are super easy to make.  You basically toss the chicken wings and oil and bake until crispy, then toss in a delicious combination of hot sauce and melted butter.  These are probably the most popular wings around due to the mildy sweet and sour taste with a spicy aftermath.  I prefer to dip mine in ranch dressing, but blue cheese dressing is a great alternative.  Because the wings can be spicy it’s … Continue reading
